Why do I say that?

26 Years As A Coach And Leader

Because I spent 22 years in the Navy as a officer and a leader.  This, alone, doesn’t mean a whole lot.  However, I found I could help many more people succeed by being their “coach” versus just trying to be their friend.  By making junior officers my “proteges” (in a sense), I successfully “coached” many more people to successful careers than the average officer of my times.

I did kind of a wild calculation on how many people I’ve directly coached on their success path, and then cut the number in half and came up with over 2,200 very special people.  I know it is at least double that or more.  I just like using conservative numbers.

Despite having coached so many for so long, I had to re-learn the extreme value of coaching the hard way.  As I started online, I thought I could do this alone.  You know, with just a few courses, and an endless drive for success.

As it turned out, this wasn’t good enough.  Throughout my own career, I always had guidance – or a coach (so to speak).  The Navy is a mentor-based system.  But I never really understood this, until I was all but penny-less and barely with a home.

Getting my business started successfully became a nightmare.  I had to succeed, yet I couldn’t seem make anything work.

My frustration level was pegged to the max… but I wasn’t going to quit.  I wanted this new success more than I could breathe.

The biggest challenge was two-fold; I didn’t have much money, and I wasn’t able to get the coaching and mentoring I needed to move ahead.  Yet I couldn’t let finances stop me, and…

Finally, I gave in to what other successful entrepreneurs had told more, but I didn’t want to hear; I got a coach.

It wasn’t easy.  I tried several.  All were expensive.  Most didn’t listen to a word a said.

I purchased a number of actual coaching programs with real coaches.  They didn’t work out.  I would get to a certain level, and they would be gone.  Then I would try again, and the new coach would want me to start over from scratch.

The coaches from one organization to the next would not accept my input as to what I knew, and thus not adapt their coaching to my specific needs.  It turned out to be mostly scripted coaching.  Ever have that happen to you?

I Just Wanted To Quit

I didn’t give up.  I kept up the search, and then I found Eben Pagan and his assistant, Carol Baker for my online business coaching.  That’s how it all came together.  I found the right coach.

You have to understand one other reality.  If I wanted to succeed much faster, I could have saved $75,000 by having spent more time searching out the right coach before buying all those incomplete online courses taught by people with mostly good intentions, yet not really having any experience teaching or coaching.
